In 1987, Mark C. Menadue, DO, JD, FACEP, FCLM, President/CEO, was working on-base in Colorado as an Army physician. During that time, he also cared for emergency medicine patients at a nearby rural hospital on weekends. It was here that Dr. Menadue observed the inferior quality of care being provided by private-equity agency physicians. This personal connection to community health and his own commitment to providing quality care inspired Dr. Menadue to form ACUTE CARE, INC., in 1989. The early years were both challenging and exciting. Emergency Medicine transitioned into a genuine specialty and the need to engage additional qualified physicians grew. Dr. Menadue’s dedication would be tested as he often covered many shifts himself, working long hours, and even navigated the floods of 1993 by boat when necessary to provide healthcare to Chariton, Iowa.
As ACUTE CARE, INC., grew, matured, and became STATUS Health Partners, Dr. Menadue’s own character has been embedded in our culture and capabilities. Not merely a small group practice, STATUS Health Partners is a sophisticated, veteran-physician lead firm managed by a leadership team with over 128 years of combined experience.
