Mark C. Menadue, DO, JD, FACEP, FCLM
Founder, President/CEO
Dr. Menadue founded ACUTE CARE, INC. in 1989 and has served as president and CEO since the inception of the practice. A board-certified emergency physician, Mark continued his education by completing a Juris Doctorate. A Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians and the American College of Legal Medicine, and a uniquely qualified and experienced healthcare executive, Dr. Menadue consults, advises, and leads on a diverse set of issues affecting the clinical and business components of emergency medicine. Mark's involvement in advocacy and leadership includes serving on the ACEP Reimbursement Committee and membership on the Board of Trustees for Des Moines University.
Robert Devrnja, MD, FACFE
Founder, Co-CEO
Dr. Devrnja is a graduate of University of Guadalajara with his post-doctoral training at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. He did a research fellowship at the University of Alabama in Birmingham and attended the University of Tennessee’s (PEMBA) Physician Executive MBA program in Knoxville. He has practiced Emergency Medicine since 1984, and is the founder of two successful ER staffing companies. He is also past secretary of the Rural Health Section of ACEP.
Lenard M. Kerr, DO, FAAEM
CMO
Dr. Kerr joined the ACUTE CARE, INC. team in 2015, bringing extensive experience and a unique perspective on serving the rural patient population. A residency-trained and board-certified emergency physician, Lenard also works as medical director of a critical access hospital and a practicing physician at a tertiary center. A colonel with the Army National Guard, he has been deployed overseas five times, most recently in 2017-2018. Lenard's emphasis in residency, and continued passion in practice, includes education and expertise in documentation and coding and medicolegal risk management.
Paul Hudson, MBA, MHA, FACHE
COO
Mr. Hudson is a former flight paramedic and educator who continued his education with master’s degrees in Business Administration and Health Administration. He joined the ACUTE CARE, INC. team in 2000. A Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives, Paul served on the Board of Examiners Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award for three years and currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Emergency Department Practice Management Association and as Regional Faculty for the American Heart Association. An avid traveler, Mr. Hudson has been to 36 countries and all seven continents.
Paula Silha, MD, ABFM
West Coast CMO
Dr. Silha completed her undergraduate studies at Idaho State University. She graduated from the University of Washington School of Medicine with honors. She completed her residency at the University of Washington in Spokane. She has primarily focused on Emergency Medicine. Dr. Silha serves on the College of Health Science and Public Health Advisory Board Member for new college of Medical Sciences at Eastern Washington University. Dr. Silha also is a clinical instructor for Clinical Medicine at University of Washington.
Jeff Oliver, Esq.
EVP / Chief Legal Officer
Mr. Oliver's background in criminal, civil, and governmental law served as a valuable contribution to the ACUTE CARE, INC. practice when he joined the team in 2005 as General Counsel. Admitted to the state bar in both Iowa and Illinois, Jeff's transition into the practice of corporate law has included education, experience, and accumulated expertise in contracts, regulatory compliance, and human resources. As a key member of the Executive Leadership team and as a vice president of the organization, Mr. Oliver’s diverse portfolio of responsibilities includes key client relationship management, process optimization and strategic planning.
John Rogers,MD, CPE, FACS, FACEP
Southern Regional Medical Director
Dr Rogers completed his undergraduate studies in biology at Augustana College in Illinois and his medical degree from the University of Iowa medical school in Iowa City, Iowa. Post graduate training in surgery at University of Iowa and residency at Medical Center of Central GA in Macon GA. He has additional training as a Certified Physician Executive, is Certified in Professional Healthcare Quality and boarded in Urgent Care. Dr. Rogers is BE in emergency medicine and previously boarded in surgery. He has many certificates to qualify him as an outstanding physician in the Emergency Department with a long list of positions with ACEP and many state medical organizations.
