Mark's involvement in advocacy and leadership includes serving on the ACEP Reimbursement Committee and membership on the Board of Trustees for Des Moines University.

A residency-trained and?board-certified?emergency physician, Lenard also works as medical director of a critical access hospital and a practicing physician at a tertiary center. A colonel with the Army National Guard, he has been deployed overseas five times, most recently in 2017-2018. Lenard's emphasis in residency, and continued passion in practice, includes education and expertise in documentation and coding and medicolegal risk management.?
