ACUTE CARE, INC. Supports: The Illinois Critical Access Hospital Network (ICAHN)

ACUTE CARE, INC. supports, and benefits from the innovative and effective strategies and achievements of the Illinois Critical Access Hospital Network (ICAHN).

ICHAN’s mission is to strengthen critical access and small, rural hospitals through collaboration. The organization and its 57 member hospitals make it their overarching goal to preserve access to rural healthcare while improving the vibrancy and viability of the communities served.

ICHAN’s Executive Director, Pat Schou, describes the organization this way, “As a membership-based not-for-profit organization, ICAHN’s mission is centered around sharing resources, expertise, and learning opportunities, promoting efficiency and best practice, and ultimately, improving healthcare services for our member hospitals and the rural communities they serve.”
Ms. Schou represents rural hospitals on a national basis as well. From a recent news article in the Princeton, IL News Tribune:

Pat Schou recently presided over the 31st annual National Rural Health Policy Institute in Washington, DC.

Elected to the position in 2019, Schou serves as the 2020 National Rural Health Association President and was instrumental in providing opening remarks and a keynote to more than 500 legislators, policymakers, and rural health leaders, including her own contingent of 17 Illinois Critical Access Hospital Network CEOs and allied health professionals.

ACUTE CARE, INC. applauds the value ICHAN delivers to its members and their role in preserving and protecting rural hospitals.
