STATUS Health Partners is proud to celebrate the opening of the new Aspirus Chippewa Falls Hospital and Clinic and the beginning of our partnership in providing Emergency Department care to the Chippewa Falls community.
Last week, Aspirus welcomed hundreds of community members, local leaders, clinicians, and staff for a ribbon-cutting ceremony and open house. Guests had the opportunity to tour the new facility and learn more about the services now available as the hospital officially opened its doors to patients earlier today.
The opening represents an important milestone for the Chippewa Valley and rural healthcare more broadly. At a time when rural communities across the country continue to lose access to local hospital care, with 61 rural hospitals closing and only 11 opening from 2017 to 2023, Aspirus’s investment in Chippewa Falls is especially meaningful. Following the 2024 closures of St. Joseph’s Hospital in Chippewa Falls and Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire, Aspirus stepped in to help restore critical access to healthcare in the region. The new facility features a 10-bed Emergency Department, 10 inpatient beds, primary care, imaging, laboratory services, and other resources designed to provide high-quality care closer to home.
At STATUS, we’re honored to support that mission by partnering with Aspirus to provide physician coverage for the new Emergency Department. We congratulate the entire Aspirus team on this tremendous accomplishment and appreciate the commitment, investment, and hard work required to make this new hospital a reality.
