Earlier this month, the Iowa Hospital Association (IHA) staff traveled to Washington, D.C., to advocate on behalf of Iowa hospitals and the patients they serve. As federal budget reconciliation discussions continue, the priority remains clear: protecting essential Medicaid funding that supports low-income, disabled, and elderly Iowans.
During the visit, IHA’s coalition met with members of Iowa’s U.S. House delegation to emphasize the critical role Medicaid plays in sustaining hospital operations and ensuring access to care in communities across the state. The team also discussed the potentially severe impact federal budget cuts could have on Iowa’s healthcare system.
These conversations are vital to protecting the future of healthcare in Iowa and ensuring every Iowan, regardless of income, geography, or background, has access to the care they deserve.
